LOST Somewhere Over the Rainbow?

The Veterans Healing Farm did our normal fundraising mailer in September just before the storm hit. We had mailed out 5,000 letters and 10 weeks later we’ve received 20 back. Something went terribly wrong (beyond the storm itself) but we have no way to track the mailing. If your donation check has not posted to your account as being deposited, it is among the missing. We cannot afford to send out the same mailer (multi-color, beautiful pictures) so we’re counting on social media now.

With the devastation of Hurricane Helene the need is so great everywhere today. December 3, 2024, is Giving Tuesday with people all around the United States and around the world are coming together to give back to our communities.

By joining the #GivingTuesday movement, you're helping the Veterans Healing Farm continue its mission of enhancing the mental, emotional, and physical well-being of our nation's Veterans and their families.

Here's ways you can help:

• On Tuesday, December 3rd, go to our donation page HERE and please donate to keep our programs running and free to the Veteran community.

• Spread the word: Encourage your friends and family to join you in making an impact by sharing what the Veterans Healing Farm means to you and why others should support our organization. Make sure to use the hashtag #GivingTuesday and tag us on Facebook and Instagram. Thank you!

UPCOMING WORKSHOPS

Mead Brewing Workshop

with Rob Kinard, Founder, Good Times Mead*

Each student will be leaving with a 1 gallon carboy filled with fermenting must (honey/water/nutrients/yeast), to take home and nurture into a gallon of their own mead!

Learning how to make our own batch of Good Times mead will certainly be a 'good time!'

In this workshop you'll learn how to prep and sanitize your equipment, mix your must (honey/water), start your yeast, add organic nutrients, pitch your yeast, follow the Tailored Organic Staggered Nutrient Addition (TOSNA) 3.0 protocol, and take Alcohol By Volume (ABV) readings.

Each student will leave with a 1 gallon glass carboy filled with fermenting must as well as organic nutrients, which in approximately 1 month (if attended to correctly!) will become 1 gallon of (hopefully!) delicious oomead!

*Veteran-owned business. We at Good Times Mead are passionate about three things: Good mead, good times with family and friends, and supporting our Veterans by any and all means available, with a particular emphasis on preventing Veteran suicide. To that end, a portion of the proceeds of each and every purchase of anything we have to offer goes to Veteran support organizations, to include The Green Beret Foundation, Stop Soldier Suicide, and the Veterans Healing Farm in Hendersonville, NC. Our Veterans have paid and continue to pay a heavy price for the freedoms we enjoy, and deserve the admiration, respect, and support of our great nation. Learn more about GTM here.
