Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week
This week is Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week. It has been a week to honor the unsung heroes who work day-in and day-out in direct contact with our students (or at least over the internet and from six feet) to ensure that they are developing academic skills, experiencing rich co-curricular classes, and building the social and emotional competencies to help them find success when they eventually matriculate on to high school. Working in education for many years, I have heard it said that there is a special seat of honor for those who hold dear the opportunity to work with middle school students.

Some of you may know that my own three children passed through this Hamilton campus for three years each in the not too distant past. When they each in turn began sixth grade I wasn't quite sure how they would ever be ready for high school. It was during these middle years that, perhaps like your children, my children began to push boundaries in new ways. At various points along the way they were skeptical of what my wife and I knew as their parents, making our work at home to guide their growth at times difficult. It was during these years that they found Hamilton teachers and staff members skilled in their work to connect with them and who were patient in shepherding their growth. Each of my three kids left Hamilton well equipped to meet the demands of high school, though perhaps still a bit skeptical of what their parents know. Please join me in thanking our Hamilton Middle teachers and staff members for their wonderful work with our children!
Last Chance to Switch from Virtual to In Person
The App to switch from all virtual to an in-person cohort will close tomorrow, Friday, May 7th at midnight. This is the last opportunity for Middle and High School Families to change their preferences for the 20-21 school year. Students changing their preference at this time will begin in-person learning on May 25th or May 27th depending on cohort assignment. Students can change from in-person to virtual learning at any time.

Photo Finish
It was a smorgasbord of activity his week with Spirit days dedicated to Hamilton wear and school colors, pajamas, internet memes, and tomorrow's colors by grade level day. Along the way we had the sounds of band instruments on our campus for the first time in over a year!
