Hamilton Spirit Week

Hamilton Spirit Week is coming our way next week! Below is a run down of the scheduled daily activities:

Monday: Pajama Day

Tuesday: Twinsie Tuesday (dress similar to a friend)

Wednesday: Favorite Team Day (can be a team of any kind)

Thursday: No School - Parent-Teacher Conferences

Friday: School Color Day. Colors assigned to each grade level are:

6th grade - BLUE 7th grade - GREY 8th grade - WHITE

No Change to School Start and Dismissal Times

Some of you may recall that the school district indicated this past August that there could be a change to our start and dismissal times at the beginning of the second semester. There will be no change at second semester. See the following note from the district:

"No change to school start/dismissal times. Unfortunately, these times will most likely last through the 3rd quarter and possibly all school year. We continue to seek 17 bus drivers to fill available positions."

Reminder: Regent Wrestling Club

Is your child interested in trying wrestling? The Regent Wrestling Club targeting interested youth in grades 2-8 will begin on Monday, November 15. Practices and competitions run through March and there is no fee for participation. Practices are held at West High School. Please see the below links for further information including an email contact for any questions that you might have.

Hot Dog!

Just prior to Halloween, five students brought hot dog costumes to school and changed into them at lunch recess. The five then raced around the ball diamond for our very own Sausage Race! Not sure exactly who won, but we are quite certain it was the hot dog!

Reminder: Thanksgiving Basket Drive

We are in the final days of our Goodman Community Center's Thanksgiving Basket Drive, with the final day to donate being this coming Tuesday, November 16.

To date, families have already donated over 1,000 items and there are more coming in each day--thank you!!

There is still time to make donations to your child's Advisory classroom. To make your shopping easy, this food drive is only accepting the following non-perishable items.

Guest Network Change

Beginning Monday, November 15, use of Guest wireless networks at all MMSD schools will be for visitors needing to gain access for presentations of professional purposes. Students will not have access to the Guest network, during most school hours, and are encouraged to utilize their district-issued devices, which automatically login to the Secure network.

The Guest wireless network will be available to students from 3:45 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. We anticipate the biggest impact to students will be to those who use personal devices to connect to the Guest network for non-school related tasks. Keep in mind that students will continue to have the ability to access all Chromebook related learning as part of their classes at Hamilton Middle.

Hawk Bucks Are Back!

For those who have not heard, Hawk Bucks are back at Hamilton. This is an incentive type program students receive for following our Hawk Pride expectations. Students can earn blue Hawk Bucks from staff at school for following the week's goal for behavior as well as other helpful, kind and going above and beyond type actions they do throughout their weeks.

This week's goal is: Being responsible outside.

We used to fund these rewards through our various back to school nights. Unfortunately, we still are not yet able to have these types of evening events due to the pandemic. If you are able, we would greatly appreciate any monetary donations or new or gently used items around the house etc. that students might be able to earn for prizes. Please send items in to Jennifer Muth, PBIS coach at Hamilton Middle.

We greatly appreciate any and all of your support and help. It has been so wonderful having all our students back; the halls have never been so vibrant with energy and passion for learning!

Feminine Product Dispensers Installed in Restrooms

Just a quick note to let you know that feminine product dispensers have been installed in all Girls' restrooms and in addition in all Gender Inclusive restrooms. Pads and tampons are dispensed from the machines free of charge.
