No School Monday--Memorial Day

End of the Trail Reward

The Hamilton Middle Running Club recently enjoyed a run to the end of Picnic Point and took advantage at the trail's end for a photo op! Thank you to Hamilton Middle teachers Suzanne Wickizer and Thom Sloan for their leadership of the group, and to our Hamilton MSCR Site Coordinator Kris Anderson for her support of the club!

The Play's the Thing

Staying in Touch

Sometimes one of our students moves far away before the Hamilton swag arrives, like Rachel who moved back to Seoul, South Korea in February. When it happens, out team tracks them down and delivers the swag! Rachel was kind enough to send an in the mirror selfie wearing her new Hamilton Middle 8th grade sweatshirt!

Sci-O Team Returns from Nationals

Our Hamilton Science Olympiad team recently returned from the national tournament in Kansas. Hamilton teams medaled in the top 6 in 5 events. They also placed 15th as an overall team out of the top 60 teams representing their respective states throughout the country. Congrats to all!

More Chess Tournament Success!

This past weekend, our Hamilton Hawks chess team competed in the 2023 Madison Country Day School Chess Championship. The team of Jack, Aethon, and Oscar placed second as a team. Jack took first as an individual with an undefeated match record of 5-0. Congrats, team!

Summer Take Home Books on Their Way

For the third year running, the School District is sending home books for summer reading to all students district-wide in grades 4K-8. The Take Home Books for Elementary and Middle School are part of the district's Early Literacy and Beyond complementary strategy connected to family and community engagement. The program aims to foster love of reading, promote literacy beyond the school building, and ensure that students have access to culturally relevant texts. The Take-Home Packs intentionally include texts that positively lift African American, Latino/a, and neurodiverse characters. The intended use of the Take Home Reading Packs is to increase reading for pleasure at home as well as help to build home libraries that are diverse in nature.
