Math Materials Pick Up: All Students EVERY student has a math kit to pick up at Hamilton. These kits will be used throughout the school year in every math class. The kits can be picked up every day the week of October 12th, Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4 pm. Please come to the main entrance, Door #1 on Waukesha Street. The doors will be unlocked and as you enter there will be tables with large plastic bags. Please grab one bag for each student. Students working at The Neighborhood House and Bay View Community Center will have materials delivered on Friday, Oct 9. Students living in the South Park Street area can pick up materials at Penn Park on Tuesday, Oct. 13 or Thursday, Oct. 15, from 4-5pm.

Keeping Us All Healthy Some important health reminders and updates as we navigate a pandemic and head toward the winter months and flu season.  Pandemic Related: Please note that the Alliant Energy Center, the main testing site for Covid-19, has changed their hours. The new hours through the end of the calendar year are: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:00pm to 8:00pm Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 8:00am to 4:00pm Closed on Sundays and Mondays Flu Related: If you are open to the idea of getting a flu vaccine for yourself and your child(ren), please consider doing so sooner than later. The above mentioned Alliant Energy Center also provides free flu shots upon request during the same hours of operation for Covid-19 testing for Dane County residents 6 months and older who do not have health insurance, or who have BadgerCare or Medicaid. See this link for important additional details with regard to getting a free flu shot. Vaccinations: Many well child doctor visits were postponed or canceled in the spring due to Covid-19, causing students to be behind on immunization requirements. Primary care offices are now open and scheduling well child visits and we want to help make sure your child is current with vaccination requirements for school. The WI Department of Health Services continues to follow the WI State Statutes immunization requirement for schools during the Covid-19 pandemic, even with distance learning. If your child is in need of immunizations, especially if they have entered 6th grade, please schedule an appointment with your primary care provider as soon as possible. To see if your child is up to date on immunizations, you can contact your health care provider or check your child’s records on the Wisconsin Immunization Registry (WIR). If you have questions about immunization requirements or are able to share updated immunization records please contact Alex Budzisz, Hamilton School Nurse Assistant at aabudzisz@madison.k12.wi.us. Installing Infinite Campus on Your Phone I will continue to remind and encourage parents to install the Infinite Campus app on their phones (students can too!). Infinite campus can also be accessed from any computer. Downloading the Infinite Campus app to your phone allows you to see grades on assignments, including the designation of "Missing" immediately after the teacher enters the information in their electronic grade book. The same type of notification will arrive to your phone for attendance where you can see immediately if your child has been marked absent or tardy. To download the IC app to your phone, see the below link to the district's attendance page, which also includes information on how to configure the appropriate notification setting in the app.

Riprapping is about done! Hopefully this solves the flooding issue at our 8th grade entrance! New Chief of Secondary Schools Dr. Marvin Pryor visits Hamilton, stopping for a moment for a photo with Assistant Principal Dax.

A worker with our MMSD Maintenance Department caulks some leaky windows in our upper breezeway. Did you know that your home likely has its own color wheel? Students in Ms. McRae's Art classes recently found this to be true!
