ACT: Active Community Time
On Friday, February 18 we implemented a shortened day schedule that left us with about an hour at the end of the day for something that we call "Active Community Time", or ACT. ACT is coordinated by our Positive Behavior and Interventions and Supports person, Jen Muth. Teachers and staff members across the school host ACT activities in their classrooms, gyms, or outside that students sign up for in advance. The way the sign up is run ensures that there is a mix of students from all three grade levels in every activity. Activities include yoga, art, blanket making, board games, basketball, etc., etc. Photos in this newsletter are from our February 18 ACT day.
Who ya gonna call?
Just a quick FYI that all school district phones, including those at Hamilton Middle, will be down on Saturday for planned maintenance and upgrades. Please know that if you are trying to contact us over the weekend (i.e., to report an absence), that you may not be able to get through to leave a message.
Where ya gonna test?
Please also note that the covid testing clinic located inside our gym entrance is temporarily closing. There is a new testing vendor who will be providing this service to our community in the future. We do not yet have an exact date when the testing clinic at Hamilton Middle will reopen--but it should be soon!
