Bullying Prevention Month

During the month of October, students in Advisory classes have experienced a series of lessons on bullying and related topics as part of National Bullying Prevention Month. Lessons began with a definition of bullying, an overview of the MMSD Anti-Bullying policy, and then moved on to help students understand the difference between bullying and conflict. Students were also guided through an understanding of the MMSD Non-Discrimination Policy, along with discussions on harassment. As part of the lessons, students were also led in activities around creating kinder, more accepting, and more inclusive classrooms and school.

Jean Rohe Visits Music

NYC singer-songwriter, Jean Rohe, recently visited 7th grade general music and B Day choir.  Rohe talked to students about writing music, and then they all sang together.  She also performed some of her set for the evening concert she was doing in Madison at Bur Oak.

Working With Van Hise

Last week a photo was shared of our Theater students reading in classrooms down the hall at Van Hise. There are other classes and programs at Hamilton Middle where students are also making the walk to Van Hise to read with students. In the below photos, students in our AVID program read with students in classrooms at Van Hise.
