Attorney Michael A. Fiumara was a pioneer in winning a major childhood sexual abuse case against the Archdiocese of Santa Rosa, Bishop Daniel Walsh, and Father Xavier Ochoa-Perez over a decade ago under California’s former, more restrictive laws. 
 
The case, filed by nine plaintiffs, settled for a then-record $5,020,000, holding the Bishop criminally culpable for failing to protect children from sexual abuse thus allowing the predatory priest to flee to Mexico.
