Several members of the Parks and Recreation department (PARD) take SERVE-ing far beyond their job responsibilities. During a recent Love Where You Live (LWYL) program Service Day, a PARD group gave up a sunny Saturday morning to work at a local resident’s home.

LWYL is a Neighborhood Services program designed to help families in need with light home repairs and in the process, help strengthen the Plano community as a whole. LWYL relies on volunteers from varied backgrounds to assist homeowners who need property maintenance like:

• Landscaping and tree trimming
• Painting and cleaning litter
• Repairing gutters
• Minor carpentry and more

The PARD leadership team was honored to volunteer for Plano’s LWYL Service Day. Led by Director of Parks and Recreation Robin Reeves, the crew of seven spent hours beautifying one of our long-time resident’s front and back yard. Leading by example, this is how Team Plano SERVES!
