Giving Thanks for God's Abundance!

Dear friends,

All glory to God who is able! I am beyond grateful for the ABUNDANCE of ways God is moving through the people of God in Kent County to build his kingdom! He is accomplishing INFINTELY MORE than we could even ask or imagine!!

Lawrence (79 years old) called VIS this week in a panic. His wife had been moved from their home in Wyoming to an in-patient hospice 40 minutes away. Due to a recent stroke, he could not drive to be with her in her final days. Through GOD's ABUNDANCE, two volunteers from two different churches collaborated to drive Lawrence to and from the hospice so he could be with his wife at the end of her life.

Casework Connections Coordinator

VIS is adding a Casework Connections Coordinator (30-32 hrs/wk) to our team. This individual will play a key role in the intake of new VIS Friends (clients) and ministry requests, connecting volunteers and churches with service opportunities, assisting to onboard new volunteers, and conducting home visits, as needed. Join Love Inc South Kent County and Volunteers In Service for a 6-week learning cohort. This series of classes will be interactive and discussion based. We will use videos and material from "Helping Without Hurting in Benevolence Ministry" from the Chalmers Center to explore together how to move our ministries and benevolence giving from transactional to transformational. Many of our neighbors are struggling with food insecurity and access to health care because they can't get to the store, food pantry, or doctor's office! Our current volunteers have reached their capacity. Please consider joining us in "Sharing God's Love...One Ride at a Time!"
