Over the past few years the lack of affordable housing across our nation, and specifically in Hampton Roads has truly come to light. Inability to afford housing is the key driver of the increase in homelessness. The partners and I have a continuing mission to work with legislators, HUD and local government in an effort to develop quality, affordable housing for those in need. At The Franklin Johnston Group, we develop with uncompromising standards, and those standards do not waver with the type of property we build.
Our newest affordable community, Two Hundred West, opened late last year and leased up in just 90 days! The speed of lease up at this community emphasizes the need for affordable apartment homes in our area. Next on the horizon, The Renaissance, will be opening this spring. Together, these properties provide 484 affordable apartment homes in Virginia Beach, VA.

200 West Leases Up in Record Time!
TFJG's latest affordable development, Two Hundred West leased up its 264 units in only 3 months! The community is located in Virginia Beach and offers one, two, and three-bedroom apartment homes and includes a clubhouse, playground, pool and fitness center. The speed in which it leased showcases the need Virginia Beach has for quality, affordable housing.
Soon to follow this year are two additional developments in Virginia Beach. The Renaissance, a 240-unit affordable community is scheduled to open this summer and Coastal 61, a 244-unit luxury community scheduled to open this fall.

Miranda has gone from a successful lease up at a steady-paced Senior community to taking over a very fast-paced, multi-family and commercial deal more than twice the size of her old community. Before Miranda, we were off to a rocky start at Shockoe Valley Heights and Old Stone Row; these communities are unlike anything we currently have in the TFJG portfolio, so there was a major learning curve. The challenges continue to roll in daily but Miranda takes everything in stride and gives her residents, staff, and owners 110% while on and off the clock.
