Celebrating Our Volunteers by Patty Johnson, Volunteer and Events Manager National Volunteer Appreciation month was first designated in 1991 by President George H. W. Bush, the same year “1000 Points of Light” celebrated the work of volunteers everywhere. Each year VISTE aspires to show our appreciation to the volunteers who support our mission - to enable elderly persons to live independently and safely in their own homes.

VISTE is BLOOMING! VISTE is focused on the future! Thank you Tom and Paula Mims for hosting the kickoff event to announce VISTE’s new Endowment Fund! The fund will provide ongoing revenue through interest income, helping to ensure essential services are available to local seniors for generations to come. Additional updates soon! VISTE's All-Volunteer Ramp Crew Pictured here are just a few of the many volunteers who serve on the VISTE Ramp Crew. Crew members build custom wooden accessibility ramps, stairs and handrails, averaging three completed ramps each month – all free of charge to clients. These modifications allow clients access to their own homes and to remain safe and independent. THANK YOU to our Ramp Crew!

A VISTE Board member was asked to share a phrase that describes why he volunteers for VISTE.
