Upcoming Member Trainings REMINE will be providing two member trainings in January. The date, times, and registration are listed below. Please make sure to register. We will host these Zoom trainings in the VBR Office for those who would like to attend in the office. There will NOT be a live trainer here. RETS TRANSITION

RETS transition to API nearing deadline The VMLS has been in contact with all RETS vendors since June in the transition from RETS to API. If you have an IDX feed, this affects you and your websites. You will (or may already have) receive an email from “noreply@sparkplatform” asking you to click on the approval link inside the email. THIS IS A LEGITIMATE EMAIL. This is required for your vendor to gain API credentials to avoid disruption in your IDX feeds. I will be continuing to send these as reminders to those who have not approved. You will also receive a Docusign from us with an updated Data Licensing Agreement. Thank you for your attention to this matter. ALL RETS will be cut off on December 30, 2022.

FAIR HOUSING REMINDERS

Fair Housing is an important and ongoing topic in the Real Estate industry. We encourage our members to stay up to date with Fair Housing rules and protect your livelihood by being educated on how you could be in violation of Fair Housing law. A reminder that VMLS does not allow including people in your photography, and will always send a courtesy email if we see possible Fair Housing violations, including in your public and private remarks.

RULES REMINDERS

Sold Entry Only Remember to use the Sold Entry Only property type when entering off-market sales for stat purposes only. This property type was created so that off-market properties are not propagated out in portals and misinterpreted as Active listings. Please only enter this AFTER you've closed. Also, please make sure to close them out right away. If you are pulling reports, make sure to include this property type if you would like the off-market sales included.

Schedule/Parcel Numbers Schedule and Parcel numbers are required in VMLS. Schedule and parcel numbers can be found in Remine - in the Properties tab, or on the County Records website. Schedule numbers always begin with an R, and parcel numbers are a series of numbers. The schedule number should link from Flex to County Records in the detail sheet.

Compliance is completed daily, but we always encourage members to report violations that we may have overlooked. A friendly reminder that we do NOT report back to the reporting party on the outcome. Violations are handled at the MLS level, and on almost all violations, a courtesy warning is issued before any fines. In an effort to help educate on rules, we like to provide warnings as often as possible. We are here to help and encourage our members to call anytime with questions. Participants and subscribers have two (2) business days in which to respond or correct the issue.
