YOU ARE ENTITLED TO A
SAFE WORKING ENVIRONMENT!
As this public health crisis ramps up once again, it is imperative that management ensure a safe working environment for all our members! That includes Safe Staffing, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and ensuring management follows all health & safety guidelines as prescribed by OSHA and the Department of Health.

JNESO is aware that management at your facility has escalated their status to an “Emergency Event.” JNESO wants members to make sure that they have enough N95/KN95 masks (NIOSH/OSHA Certified), goggles or face shields, gloves, hand sanitizer, and gowns to safely take care of patients and protect yourself and your families.

JNESO also reminds you that you should only do what can safely be done in your regularly scheduled day, be it 7.5 hrs, 9 hrs, 10 hrs, or 12 hrs. Only take on additional visits or additional shifts if you are able to and feeling well. DO NOT PUT YOURSELF AT RISK by running your body down doing too many visits. JNESO understands that some visits may be done through phone calls. If a patient can be cared for through a phone call, seek management approval to move them to phone call visit status. This will allow in-person contact for those patients who must be seen and are very much in need of in-person care.

If you are asked to do something that you are unsure of, need assistance or training, reach out to your JNESO Local Officers or Labor Representative Meredith Larson.

JNESO will continue to ensure management at your facility ensures a safe work environment for our members as we enter the third year of this COVID public health crisis.

Please continue to Stay Safe! For questions or concerns, contact a Local Officer or your Labor Representative Meredith Larson.
