Early April 2022
From the Executive Director
The first half of the legislative session was marked by the passage of an unusually complex Budget Adjustment Act, an unexpected and substantial health care reform package in the Senate, and a House budget that includes a 7 percent Medicaid rate increase for the Choices for Care program. The Senate is moving quickly on the budget and the end of the 2022 legislative session already appears to be in sight. Click HERE to read the full report.

We're also coming up on the annual National Healthcare Decisions Day for 2022 on April 16 and Vermont Advance Directive Week April 10 to 16. Perhaps timed to coincide with family celebrations of Easter or Passover (or simply the beginning of a long-awaited spring), this annual observance reminds us to be sure we have a plan in place for our health should we not be able to advocate for our own health care decisions. Have you made plans for your care in case of medical emergency or serious illness? National Healthcare Decisions Day or during Vermont is the perfect time to start your advance care planning. Click on the links below for important information and tools to help you create your plan and have a conversation about it with your loved ones.

Happy spring!
