Multiple Injured in Shooting this Morning at the Days Inn hotel in Van Ness.
As reported by NBC4 news this morning, "A woman has died and multiple people were injured in a shooting inside a Northwest Washington, D.C., hotel early Thursday when gunfire erupted during a party, police said. Police were called to the 4400 block of Connecticut Avenue, in the Van Ness area, about 3:30 a.m. for reports of gunshots. Multiple victims were found inside the Days Inn hotel, Bedlion said. Five men and women were injured in the shooting, Second District Commander Duncan Bedlion said. Some were taken to hospitals by ambulance and others took themselves."
We're saddened both for the victims, and to hear of this type of activity taking place on our Main Street and would like to take this opportunity to share some news we learned last week. The Days Inn hotel, along with its adjoining parking lot and parking garage, is currently listed for sale by CRBE. The details of the offering can be found here on CRBE's website. Please know that Van Ness Main Street has been working with ANC3F and the VNMS Economic Development Committee and board to accelerate this process.
In the meantime, please use the power of your voice as residents of our beautiful neighborhood for change at the Days Inn until the property is sold. We must collectively make our voices heard with the ANC, DC Council, and the Mayor’s office.
