Although we are closed to the public during this time, our staff continue to be here
to answer your phone calls and emails. We are offering appointments to be
done virtually. Our Fingerprinting and Trustline appointments will remain openas this is essential to our community and our local Child Care infrastructure.
We will continue to modify our programs and provide services to our families, Child Care Providers, and community!

Provider Updates
This week we are celebrating CACFP Week. The USDA's Child & Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) brings healthy foods to tables across the county for children in child care centers, homes, and afterschool programs, as well as adult day care. Valley Oak Children's Services Food Program proudly supports over 150 Child Care Providers in our community. We want to take this time to say THANK YOU to each of them for their commitment to the CACFP and the children's health and well-being in their care!

During the 19-20 fiscal year, VOCS Food Program providers served 696,000 meals, which fed 1,720 children in our community!

CCLD has released a new Provider Information Notice: PIN 21-04-CCP: Availability Of State And Federal Funding To Test Drinking Water For Lead Contamination In Child Care Centers And For Remediation (Correction) Of Lead Contamination.

PIN 21-04-CCP notifies licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) about state funding assistance available to test drinking water for lead contamination in licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) and for remediation or correction of lead contamination as required by Assembly Bill 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018.

2018 Disaster Relief Funding Grant Application for Licensed and License Exempt Providers
Message from The California Department of Education (CDE), Early Learning and Care Division (ELCD)
 
The CDE, ELCD invites licensed and license exempt CDE funded early learning and care providers to apply for one-time supplemental child care grants for disaster relief by completing and submitting the online Grant Application for 2018 Disaster Relief Funding for Calendar Year 2018.
 
The grant was released on March 5, 2021, and the applications are due by 5pm on April 5, 2021. There is no Letter of Intent required for this grant.

Upcoming Trainings/Workshops
Providers join us Monday, March 22nd from 6:00-8:00 pm
for our Curriculum Planning Training Part 1.

This training will focus on planning activities for children 0-2 years of age. We will discuss developmentally appropriate activities, along with planning curriculum based upon child observation and interests. This training will be interactive with time for discussion.

Curriculum Planning Part 1 Training will take place virtually via Zoom. To receive this virtual link and information, please call our office to register.

March Virtual Butte Parent Cafe's

Providers, parents, guardians, grandparents, and foster parents are invited to join us for our modified Butte Parent Cafe's.

We have three cafes' coming
up this month.
March 2nd / March 11th / March 25th

Come to connect with other families in our community and learn about our Parent Cafe program. These virtual cafes will focus on Concrete Support based on the Five Protective Factors.

Though we are not able to meet in person, we can still connect, laugh, talk, and support each other virtually!
