On Saturday, in addition to local run-offs, Louisianans will elect new officials for Attorney General, Secretary of State, and Treasurer. Take a look at where the candidates stand...

Attorney General

• Louisiana Right to Life has endorsed Liz Murrill for Attorney General. As Solicitor General, Liz Murrill has passionately stood up for the pro-life cause, and we presented Liz Murrill with our 2022 Leadership for Life Award.

• Her opponent, Lindsey Cheek, supports abortion-on-demand. If elected, she will be the most pro-abortion Attorney General in Louisiana history.

Secretary of State

• Nancy Landry has committed to serve as a pro-life Secretary of State. Nancy Landry had a 98% Pro-Life Record while serving in the LA House of Representatives from 2008-2019.
• Gwen Collins-Greenup did not respond to Louisiana Right to Life's request for information on her position.

Treasurer

• John Fleming has committed to serve as a pro-life Treasurer. Fleming had a 100% pro-life voting record in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2009-2017.
• Dustin Granger did not responded to Louisiana Right to Life’s request for information on his position. However, his statements online indicate he is pro-abortion.

On Tuesday, Ohio experienced a devastating defeat when voters approved a radical ballot measure that will enshrine abortion into their state constitution. It was arguably the most important vote on abortion since the reversal of Roe vs. Wade in June of 2022 because of the state’s super pro-life majorities in the Ohio Legislature and among their state-wide officials. Read more of our reaction to this disappointing outcome.

Starting January 20th, we will be marching across Louisiana to share the message that we are here for women regardless of what they are experiencing. Now more than ever, we must show up for women seeking abortion or just needing assistance.

Support life this upcoming Giving Tuesday on November 28th through I Give Catholic to help us defend and promote pro-life legislation, continue public pro-life education, reach mothers in need with Louisiana's resources before and after birth.

Our Black Advocates for Life (BAFL) team is making a huge difference in Baton Rouge. BAFL Program Assistant Robert Sensley helped start "My Baby's Closet" for women in need inside the Jewel J. Newman Community Center located in Northern Baton Rouge. Sensley was inspired to do so from his experience of being raised by a single mother.
