The Pillars of a Veritas Education: Part Three
The purpose of Veritas is to cultivate the hearts and minds of students through the pursuit of Truth, Goodness and Beauty. What this means is described in the Philosophical Pillars of Great Hearts. In this issue, we focus on the third pillar:

Students and parents: we invite you to think about these claims and explore what they mean in each subject. Ask your teachers what this means for their classes!

Better Know a House:
House Newton

House Name: NewtonConsuls: Madelyn Roberts (consul), Emma Samuel (proconsul), and Jake Cohen (proconsul)Describe House Logo: Our house logo is an apple with a planet orbiting around it.Why does your house have this logo? What does it stand for?
The apple represents Isaac Newton's discovery of the universal law of gravity. The planet in orbit around it represents his study and love of physics and his search for the greater truth of the world.
What virtues is your house known for? What virtues are you aiming for?
House Newton has had a strength and perseverance unlike any other House. We aim this perseverance towards our house virtue: curiosity. Veritas prides itself on the students' sense of wonder and depth of inquiry, and so we encourage our house to become leaders in those qualities for both themselves and the students and faculty around them.
What kind of citizens do you hope members of your House will become during their time in your House? We hope that House Newton students find their courage both in and out of class to become leaders among their fellow students. Newton students persevere in their journey to the truth and desire the best of themselves and for others. We hope that each and every one of our members finds their courage and reaches their full potential as a Veritas student.
