ARCADIA CARES: FOOD FOR KIDZ
PACK-A-THON

SATURDAY, MARCH 24, 2018
8:30 A.M. - 1:30 P.M.

Everyone is invited to join Great Hearts-Great Hands at the Arcadia Pack-a-thon, Saturday, March 24th, from 8:20 to 1:30 at the Prince of Peace Church. Bring family and friends, ages 3 and up, to participate in this assembly-line packing of meals benefiting hungry children and their families, locally and internationally. Hope to see you there!

Last year, the Veritas community was the largest group participating in this event, at which 91,662 meals were packed for families in need. We can make a difference!
 
Can't join us that day? Looking for more ways to help? Each meal costs only 15 cents to pack! (See this link for info on donations and sponsorships.)
The Pack-a-Thon is hosted by Prince of Peace Lutheran Church which is a non-profit 501c3 charitable organization so all donations are tax deductible.
Turn in Re-Enrollment Packets: March 19-23

Veritas Prep will be accepting re-enrollment packets during March: please aim to bring yours in between March 19th and March 23rd, if possible. Let our front office know if we can help in any way! 
 
Coffee with the Headmaster: Athletics, March 23

Join Mr. Dean and special guest Athletic Director Troy Head on Friday, March 23, at 7:40 AM. They will be talking about the VPA athletics program, this spring and looking ahead.

Art Walk Coming Up April 4, 6 - 8 PM!

The Veritas Art Walk is an annual tradition celebrating the great work our students do in the fine arts within the Veritas curriculum. Come enjoy an evening of student art work and musical performances!

Upcoming Standardized Testing

Students in grades 6-11 will be tested in science, math, and English language arts using online exams. For these tests, students are asked to bring headphones. They may also be purchased at the front desk for $1, or borrowed during the testing session. Below are key testing windows.

Senior Thesis Defenses Continue

Seniors discuss their thesis papers with a panel of faculty, including their advisors. Lively discussion, followed by Q&A with visitors. Come see the culmination of a Veritas education! Click for a schedule of defenses. 
8th-9th-Grade Beowulf Reading, April 5, 4:00 PM

A biannual Veritas tradition continues: the full reading-aloud of the Old-English epic poem Beowulf by our 8th-and 9th-grade students and faculty. Gathered round a fire-pit emblazoned with images and runes from the poem, students and teachers take turns reading through the entire poem aloud from beginning to end (with dinner in the middle). 8th-9th-grade only.

Middle-School Summer Opportunity   

Camp O'Connor is a free, merit-based summer program for middle school students with a mission to educate, encourage and inspire the next generation of leaders through a greater understanding of and participation in our democracy.

The five-day summer program provides incoming 7th and 8th graders with a unique, educational civics experience blended with leadership development. Camp O'Connor helps to prepare future leaders for greater participation in our democracy and strengthens their potential for lifelong success.
