VPSO NEWS

SAFETY ON OUR STREETS

Dear Veritas Parents,

As we are now into the swing of our drop off and pickup procedures, I would like to request that we take a moment to reflect on our driving responsibilities on the neighboring roads and within the boundaries of our school.  Recently, a neighboring student was accidently hit by a vehicle at 56th Street and Indian School, near the Starbucks where many of our students enjoy their leisure time before and after school.   While it is not the job of the VPSO to report the incident with specifics, nor police traffic, we all should work together for the safety of our children. Your VPSO, AVPSO and Ingleside PTA are working together to discuss how we as parents can make our streets safer for all students.  One way we can help is to SLOW DOWN and be watchful for our children.  Please be extra cautious and mindful while driving through all highly trafficked areas and all school zones.

Thank you for you partnership in making Veritas and Archway Veritas a safe place!

Sincerely,

Julie Pitcl
VPSO President

THANK YOU!

The HS Iliadathon was a huge success! A very special thank you to Mr. MacIsaac, who braved 20 miles of Friday afternoon traffic to pick up the roasted pig. Thank you to the generous faculty members who attended this VPA traditional event: Caleb Winebrenner, Malcolm Martindale, David Dean  (and Mrs. Dean), Nick Brancaccio, Natalie Gubler, Brian Warczinsky, Jared Reasy, Travis Qualls, Sebastian Pagani, Theresa Weiland, Justin Bell and Valerie Nicolaud.  Even more thanks to the intrepid colleagues who remained a significant portion of the night (half or more): Joshua Rognstad, Paul Boyer, and David Nydegger. And a VERY special thank-you to the faculty member who of his own accord remained from the bright beginning to the bitter end...Dr.Williams!  Thank you to our brave and fearless faculty organizers Jessica McCaleb and Blake Myers for their dedication - your time and enthusiasm is greatly appreciated!
