Contemporary Mountaintop Escape
|
Nestled in a secluded mountaintop location is the captivating Contemporary Mountaintop Escape. Complementing its natural surroundings, the 2,955 square foot, five-bedroom, three-bathroom residence captures the panoramic view of the skyline and offers high-quality finishes with modern interior design.
The exterior features a timber frame porch, standing seam metal roof, custom chimney cap, Barnwood siding, and a glass garage door. Reclaimed timber derived from the homeowner’s family farmhouse is incorporated throughout the structure. It is decoratively used on the exterior as well as on the interior accent walls and ceiling beams.
Other central interior elements include recessed lighting, flush baseboards, and caseless windows and doors. Hickory engineered flooring is displayed upstairs, and exposed concrete slab and foundation walls complement the downstairs decor.
The rustic and luxurious great room offers a wood-burning fireplace with an onsite extricated boulder hearth, reclaimed timber ceiling beams, a full reclaimed accent wall, and a charming stucco chimney. The main floor also exhibits a reclaimed, sliding barn door to enclose the in-home office space.
The kitchen is situated near the great room and is defined by stainless steel appliances that include a Thermador refrigerator/freezer, an induction range, and a coordinating farmhouse sink. Other standout features are leathered granite countertops, floating reclaimed timber shelves, and stunning ebony-colored drawers.
The home’s lower level provides ideal accommodations for hosting family and friends. It features a spacious living area with access to a multi-purpose mudroom complete with a kitchen. This level also includes two guest bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. All bedrooms, including the master bedroom, have caseless windows and doors, floating reclaimed shelves, and flush baseboards. The master bathroom showcases a modern floating vanity with boulder vessel sinks, wall-mounted faucets, and large format floor tile.
Quality home building is possible when the three C’s are put into practice: Coordinating, Collaborating and Communicating. VPC believes that these key components contributed to the overall success of this custom-built home. Contemporary Ridge Escape is a masterful design, and VPC is thrilled with the results of this mountaintop residential getaway.

Updates from the VPC Team

Welcome to the Team, Mike!

Mike Peters - Superintendent
|
Originally from a small town in Pennsylvania, Mike started his construction career early at the age of 15 and worked for a high-end framing company through his high school career. After being full-time and gaining industry experience, he advanced to lead foreman of the framing crews. He spent eight years framing custom homes, historic remodels, and barn restorations. Following that, he was offered a position as an in-house finish carpenter for another custom builder.
He continued to follow his career and pursuits which eventually led him to West Palm Beach, Florida. Mike, his beautiful wife, and two amazing children made Palm Beach home for four years where he became a superintendent for a premier builder. The multi-million dollar oceanfront homes that Mike managed, oversaw, estimated, scheduled, and completed have made their way into magazines such as Veranda and Coastal Living. To pass the time and to relieve the stresses of the South Florida building, Mike held a position on the weekends as a deck boss on a professional fishing charter boat.
Mike and his family now reside in Ashe County, where he would frequently visit his family for summer vacations as a child. In his free time, he plays guitar, hunts, fishes, fixes old cars, and hikes with his family and four dogs.

Did you know that not having enough parking is a sign that a retail store establishment may need a remodel?
Retail stores need to look and feel their best to ensure customers can have a comfortable and easy experience. Another potential sign could be not having enough space to store the amount of merchandise needed.

Did you know the way you design your outdoor deck will affect its durability and lifespan?
For example, wood needs to be able to breathe so that it can dry out after rain or a spring thaw. The design and location of your deck will have a big effect on your deck's life span. It is important to have a sturdy and long lasting deck structure that can withstand the elements.

Have you been thinking about finally pursuing that commercial building project? (Of course, I recommend something that would benefit the canine community...and involves treats.) Maybe now is the time to break ground on a location for that new business. Or, perhaps you need a new space for an existing business. Embarking on a commercial building project can seem intimidating, especially if it’s your first one. A common question is, “Where do I even start?” Below are three important steps to help guide you in the right direction.
Finding the right builder: Establishing a relationship with a trustworthy builder is crucial to the success of your commercial project. An experienced builder can incorporate your ideas and specifications into a quality structure that meets the needs of your business. It’s important to find a contractor who is dependable and can provide quality craftsmanship. When choosing a builder, research more than one. Browse through several builder portfolios and read their customer reviews to determine which one is right for you.
Professional drawings: No doubt, you already have a picture in your mind, or sketches on a piece of paper, of what you want the finished product to look like. From there, professional drawings are the next step. Professional drawings point out engineering and architectural design requirements and provide you with a cost estimate. In this stage, open communication between architects and contractors creates a stronger detailing and overall better document package.
Location: Location is key to any real estate endeavor. If you already have your eye on a particular lot, you’ll need to make sure that it’s buildable. Shop around and have backup options just in case. Before making a final decision, ask yourself, “Does this location serve my commercial needs? Will the property appreciate in its value? Does my contractor think it’s the best choice?”
VPC Builders is experienced in executing successful commercial projects and completes each step with precision and confidence. If you need a trusted builder to help you to get started with your new commercial construction, give our office a call at 828-295-0707 or email us at info@vpcbuilders.com. We promise to be there with you every step of the way!
