VALLEJO POLICE DEPARTMENT INVESTIGATES DECEMBER 18, 2024, FATAL HIT AND RUN COLLISION

Vallejo, CA- On December 18, 2024, at approximately 7:01 a.m., the Vallejo Police Department (VPD) received a call reporting an unresponsive female in the roadway near Sonoma Boulevard and Missouri Street.


VPD, along with the Vallejo Fire Department (VFD) and Medic Ambulance, arrived on the scene and assessed the injured female pedestrian. Medic Ambulance transported the female to the nearest trauma center for medical attention.

 

On December 24, 2024, VPD's Traffic Division was notified by the hospital that the pedestrian was in critical condition. Medical personnel reported that the female's injuries were consistent with a vehicle-versus-pedestrian collision.


Despite efforts by medical professionals, the pedestrian succumbed to her injuries on December 31, 2024, and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.


The identity of the deceased female is being withheld pending notification of next of kin by the Contra Costa County Coroner's Office.


This incident marks the 12th fatal traffic collision in Vallejo for 2024.
