VALLEJO, CA- On December 31, 2024, at approximately 5:52 p.m., officers from the Vallejo Police Department's Patrol Division were notified by medical personnel at a local hospital of a male victim who had arrived seeking medical treatment for at least one gunshot wound.
Preliminary investigative efforts indicate the shooting occurred on the 100 block of Kemper Street at approximately 5:45 p.m. based on witness statements and evidence discovered at the scene.
Despite lifesaving measures by medical staff, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin by the Solano County Sheriff's Coroner's Office.
The Vallejo Police Department Detective Division has taken over this investigation. The motive and circumstances surrounding the shooting are under investigation at this time.
This incident marks the 25th homicide in the City of Vallejo for the year 2024.
