FATAL TRAFFIC COLLISION

Vallejo, CA- On March 16, 2025, at approximately 1:15 a.m., the Vallejo Police Department (VPD) Patrol Division and the Vallejo Fire Department responded to a reported traffic collision near the intersection of Flagship Drive and 7th Street.


Upon arrival, officers located an overturned silver Volkswagen Golf in the southbound lane of Flagship Drive. The driver had been assisted out of the vehicle while emergency personnel worked to extricate two unresponsive passengers out of the vehicle. Emergency service personnel immediately initiated medical aid for the two passengers. Despite their efforts, both passengers succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced deceased at the scene by Vallejo Fire Department paramedics.


The identities of the deceased are being withheld pending notification of next of kin by the Solano County Sheriff's Coroner's Office.


The driver of the vehicle was transported to a local hospital for evaluation. A DUI investigation was conducted on the driver, and preliminary findings indicate that alcohol and drugs were contributing factors in the collision.


This incident marks Vallejo's second traffic-related fatality of 2025.
