Star Early Literacy data for 2024-25 VPK students will be unavailable after June 30, 2025. Be sure to download and save any reports you may need before this date.

Progress monitoring dates and deadlines are based on each VPK class calendar listed on the VPK-APP. Any calendar changes will impact the classrooms progress monitoring dates.

If you have a student who scored below the 10th percentile, on PM3 of FAST Star Early Literacy, they may be eligible to participate in a free Summer Bridge Program offered by the school district.

Transition to Kindergarten Padlet

To aid in access to Transition to Kindergarten resources, the Division of Early Learning (DEL) has created a padlet including editable documents in English, Spanish and Creole.

March-April 2025 Emergent Literacy Trainings by the Division Of Early Learning (DEL)

All VPK lead instructors must complete three 5-hour (15 hours total) emergent literacy courses and the Implementing the Florida Standards in the Preschool Classroom: 3 Years Old to Kindergarten standards training course (online VFSP online or SPC3TK instructor-led).

VPK ACCOUNTABILITY

Beginning with the 2024-25 VPK program year, each VPK provider will receive a performance metric and performance designation based on three components:

50% Quality (Class Composite Score)
30% Learning Gains (FAST Star Early literacy)
20% Achievement (FAST Star Early literacy)

A performance metric will be calculated when a provider has a minimum of four eligible children, meaning children have completed more than 50% of the total number of instructional hours of the VPK program in the same provider’s program, for inclusion in the provider’s metric calculation.
