VPK Accountability- Performance Metrics and Designations

Starting with the 2024-25 program year, each VPK provider will receive a

performance metric and designation within 45 days after the VPK school year and summer programs conclude. based on Rule 6M-8.622.

The VPK provider performance metric will be comprised of three (3) components:

50% Quality + 30% Learning Gains + 20% Achievement

A performance metric will be calculated if a provider has at least four eligible children—those who have completed more than 50% of the total instructional hours in the program.

VPK Instructional Hours Update

Outdoor Activities: Outdoor activities qualify as instructional time when intentional and teacher-directed. Examples include relay races, balancing exercises, and gross motor skill tasks, with active teacher interaction.

For outdoor lesson ideas, access DEL's activity plans for children aged 3–5, aligned with the Florida Early Learning and Developmental Standards (FELDS), in English and Spanish click: DEL Activity Plans
