As you may already know, the VPK readiness rates were released on Wednesday. According to the Office of Early Learning, 58% of VPK providers met the minimum score;
Pinellas scored higher with 67% of our providers meeting the threshold. Click here for a detailed analysis of the readiness rate data as it relates to Pinellas.
Following the release of the readiness rates, Governor DeSantis released the following
news release. Not surprisingly, this is getting some attention from the media, including a piece by the
Tampa Bay Times that you can find
here.
Please know that we stand with you, our partners, providers and unsung heroes on the front line. We will continue our advocacy efforts on behalf of and with our providers, and the children you serve. I invite you to join us in calling for increased funding and program reform to best prepare our children for kindergarten.

In gratitude,
Lindsay Carson CEO, Early Learning Coalition of Pinellas County, Inc.
