Tourism Gives Back

Each year, the VA1 Tourism Summit partners with a nonprofit organization local to the area. For the 2020 event, VA1 is supporting the Holli Fund.

The Holli Fund was inspired by Hollister Lindley, a beloved food writer and a powerful presence in the industry who lost a multi-year battle with ALS in late 2017. In honor of Hollister’s dedication to supporting some of the most hard-working members of our Richmond-area community, Holli Fund offers financial grants to those in the food service community experiencing an economic crisis such as injury, illness, death of an immediate family member, loss of wages or hours due to coronavirus restrictions, or other emergency.

IT’S EASY TO GIVE:

Holli Fund, a 501 (c)(3), provides emergency grants to food service workers experiencing a financial crisis. Donations are tax deductible and will go directly towards supporting food services workers.

Thank you for helping Tourism Give Back!

Governor Announces Revamped Rebuild VA Grant

VRLTA is pleased to announce that we have been working with the Governor’s office to implement changes to the structure of Governor Ralph Northam’s Rebuild VA economic recovery fund for businesses that have been impacted by COVID-19.

Thanks to our efforts, VRLTA succeeded in getting the Governor to make changes to the program which will make funds available to more businesses. Changes include:

  • Increasing the maximum amount grant recipients can obtain; employers can now receive up to $100,000 in grant funding
  • Allocating an additional $30 million to the fund, so a total of $100 million is now available to businesses
  • Expanding access to more businesses; now, businesses that earned up to $10 million in 2019 may apply, and businesses with up to 250 employees may apply.

The deadline is December 31, 2020; however, if you're interested in applying, do so soon, as the dollars are expected to run out quickly; we have heard that half of the funding has already been allocated, so don't delay!

You can find more on the program, including the application here.
