  • The Paycheck Protection Program Application Portal is now live. Eligible small businesses and nonprofits can begin applying for these loans beginning tomorrow, April 3.

Virginia Department of Health COVID-19 Waivers

In response to Executive Order 51 , heads of executive agencies were granted the authority to waive state requirement or regulations. In response, the Department of Health has issued temporary waivers of select environmental health regulations to allow the limited VDH staff to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, and minimize the possible disruption for impacted industries. Today, VDH released a list of waivers that pertain to restaurants, hotels, and campgrounds. You can view the waivers here .

  • The Virginia Restaurant, Lodging & Travel Association, through its 501c3 foundation (Virginia Restaurant Lodging & Travel Association Educational Foundation/VRLTAEF) has formed a new industry relief fund to aid workers displaced by the recent restaurant and hospitality industry shutdowns and also aid affected businesses. Individuals and businesses can learn more and make a donation here: https://www.vrlta.org/donations/donate.asp?id=19606.

Now through April 30, the National Restaurant Association is offering both the ServSuccess Restaurant Professional and Restaurant Supervisor learning suites FREE of charge. These learning suites, created with industry experts, were designed to reinforce your skills and knowledge and will help ensure you’re ready for what’s next in your career. They also cover everything you need to know to sit for the professional certification exam, should you choose to take it.
