Erin Barr, daughter of Retired Virginia State Trooper and Former President of the Virginia State Police Association Kenny Bumgarner, is running for Commonwealth's Attorney in Chesterfield County. Erin is a career prosecutor who has previously served the Chesterfield community for a decade as both an Assistant and Deputy Commonwealth's Attorney. She is currently a Senior Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney in the City of Colonial Heights. Focusing her career on domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse cases, Erin has been honored for her work with victims by the Chesterfield County Police Department, Virginia Association of Commonwealth's Attorneys, Virginia Attorney General's Office, and the Chesterfield Domestic Violence Task Force. Erin believes in the effective and skilled prosecution of violent crime and the incarceration of those who perpetrate it while also believing community safety is served by the rehabilitation of those who suffer with mental health issues and substance use disorders.
