Grand Success - Bay Area organized Ra:Ga to fund the education of 50 visually challenged students of Netra Vidyalaya
Service and talent are two different entities that can unite the world on a common platform. VT Seva's Ra:Ga 2014 certified that yet again! Click for pictures.

Held in the Bay Area, Ra:ga displayed 10 spectacular acts by 50 performers from 4 different nationalities in front of 300 enthusiastic audience members. Volunteers delivered inspirational speeches about their personal experiences with VT Seva, encouraging more youth to step up and serve. The entire event was conducted with utmost professionalism from setup to conclusion.

The night was highlighted with a presentation showcasing the exceptional achievements of the Netra Vidyalaya School that VT Seva so proudly serves, which inspired everyone and received a thunderous applause. The vision of VT Seva's service activities was well conveyed via passionate testimonials and a moving fact set.

Ra:ga surpassed its goal in funds raised through ticket sales, sponsorship and pledges to support 50 students of Netra Vidyalaya for one year. In 2015, the group aims to double this amount. The success of this event is due to the team effort that resulted from uniting all volunteers in the vision of VT Seva visionary His Holiness, Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji.

Many congratulations to VT Seva Bay Area. This event has served as a boost into continuing to serve through 2014 and beyond. We are looking forward to many more philanthropic opportunities to engage our community.

Seattle VTSeva has come across another needy and urgent case of a liver transplant for an 18 yr old named Madhavi who has too many ulcers in her liver and the only way for her to survive is through a liver transplant. Fortunately her mother's liver is a match and they will be taking cells and part from her and do the transplant.

Madhavi's parents, Sri Hanumanth Rao and Sri Adhi Laxmi are daily wage laborers who are trying every means to come up with smallest amount they can. VT Seva raised $6550 and the liver transplant will be done at Global Hospital (the same hospital where we helped Vishnu for a liver hospital that costed 15lakhs). Madhavi's health case is examined by JIMS doctors and she was provided advice on Homeo Care too. She will be soon going for liver transplant. We will keep you posted.

Bloom - Boston organizes a Benefit event, showcase of Performing Arts to procure Medical Equipment for JIMS

"Expect to have hope rekindled. Expect your prayers to be answered in wondrous ways. The dry seasons in life do not last. The spring rains will come again." - Sarah Ban Breathnach.

BLOOM symbolizes that hope to bring communities together for an important cause each year. BLOOM is a platform for community to serve and flourish together. Remember, Spring is the time to BLOOM.

VT Seva New England team held its annual fun filled performance arts event, BLOOM, on Saturday April 5, 2014 to raise funds to promote cancer awareness and patient care for underserved in India. Click for pictures and more details.
Boston organizes Spring Food Drive

On March 29th 2014, VTSeva Boston Youth joined hands with Merrimack Valley food back for Spring food drive. Together, the team collected 120 bags of non-perishable food items weighing over 2500 pounds. The food drive collected enough food to serve 2000 meals.
VT Seva is very grateful to all the donors for supporting this great cause and making a difference in the lives of underprivileged.

Martin Luther King Jr once said, "Life's urgent question is what can we do to help others." Springtime brings its' own challenges to a food bank. After all the big push for sharing and giving during the Christmas holidays, It is human nature to assume that warmer weather and longer days means fewer people will need food assistance. Not true. Need actually "knows no season."

Empowerment of youth

Sriya, VT Seva Dallas young volunteer did a project on Recycling - requesting her apartment (Vista Pointe) community to set up a separate recycling dumpsters. There was no separate recycling dumpster in their apartment complex. She raised awareness about the importance of recycling and collected signatures from most of the residents. Sriya along with few other apartment kids went to property manager and submitted the request letter along with signatures.

Property manager was very impressed. She also signed the request. She immediately scanned the request and sent it to their corporate office to contact recycling company, for setting up recycling dumpsters in Vista Pointe community. VT Seva believes in youth volunteerism and empowerment of them to make a positive change in their community.
