🎮 Teens + Tech = Greener Mountains Challenge

OPEN NOW! Attention Parents!

A game design competition for teens (13–18) tackling real local problems. Teams of 3+ work with adult mentors and software pros to design a playable solution. FIRST in Vermont - Robotics. Support for K-12

This one’s a game-changer. Robotics teams at elementary, middle, and high school levels now have grant funding to launch and grow a robotics team. Yes, you read that correctly. We can’t recommend this organization enough!

Vermont Tech Hub secures $3.4M for groundbreaking semiconductor lab

The Vermont Gallium Nitride (V-GaN) Tech Hub is launching a first-of-its-kind public testing lab for high-power microelectronics, thanks to a $3.4 million grant from the Northeast Microelectronics Coalition. Housed at OnLogic and operated by UVM, the lab will support innovators, boost workforce development, and power the state’s growing semiconductor ecosystem. Read more here.

$10M DoD contract boosts Vermont tech with MVP Robotics

Thanks to an amendment by Rep. Becca Balint, MVP Robotics has secured $10 million in federal funding to grow its dual-use technology, originally designed for athletes and soldiers. The Vermont-based company employs 23 people across VT and NH and represents a key example of federal investment fueling local innovation. Read more here.

UVM lands $5.5M in NSF grants for AI, health, and robotics research

UVM has secured over $5.5 million from the National Science Foundation to support research into AI, climate science, human health, and underground robotics. A major highlight: a $2.1 million grant to build IceCore, a supercomputer 100x faster than current systems. These awards boost UVM’s R1 status and help train students for Vermont’s innovation economy. Read more here.

Comcast funds digital literacy with $65K grant to Vermont nonprofit

Technology for Tomorrow received a $65,000 grant from Comcast to expand its Digital Navigator Program, helping older adults and new Americans gain essential tech skills. The funding will support training for 75 Vermonters to provide workshops and one-on-one support statewide, bridging the digital divide and advancing economic opportunity. Read more here.

Starting with a second mortgage and a big vision, Bia Diagnostics has become a national leader in food and cannabis testing—while creating high-quality Vermont jobs.
