December 21, 2022
This year our Christmas Eve services will be at 12:00, 4:00, and 6:00. All of our services will be in the sanctuary and include communion. Elizabeth will accompany the services at 12:00 and 6:00 with the organ. We will have soloists at both of these services. The music for the 4:00 will be led by Mike and Lindsay. Both the 4:00 and 6:00 services will end with the singing of "Silent Night" by candlelight. I hope that you will be here. Even more, I hope that you will bring somebody with you.

Christmas Eve is one of those times when people are drawn to God and to church. Some who never go the rest of the year will be looking for a place to worship. This makes it one of the best times to invite a friend, co-worker, or family member to join you for worship. Invite somebody to worship at Vineville on Saturday. Come right out and say, “There will be lots of new people so you will not stand out.” Let them know they will not be singled out, and be sure that they know we don’t care what they wear. We just want them to come! If you dress up great. If Christmas Eve finds you in casual clothes, then that is fine, too. Most important is the opportunity to share this time of worship together. A no-strings-attached invitation! Let’s share the greatest gift ever given!

Christmas Eve always has an excitement and
energy about it. I look forward to worshipping
with you and those you invite.

One Service on Christmas Day

Christmas falls on Sunday this year. We know that Christmas is busy with presents to unwrap, company, maybe some travel, and lots of feasting. We will have one combined service at 10:30 A.M. The service will be less than an hour. We hope that it will fit into your morning between gift-giving and final lunch preparations. Let’s pause to celebrate the reason for the season.

Come as casual or as dressy as you like. If you are a matching pajama family, bring it on! Our service will feature extra music so that we can sing the joy that is Christmas. Both Elizabeth and Mike will lead us with the guitar and organ. It will be a day of joy and celebration. I hope you will be in your place as the celebration will be diminished by your absence. For those on the road, we will stream the service at 10:30 as well. There will be no Sunday School and no nursery this week.
NEW YEAR'S DAY
We will start the new year with all the church worshipping together in the sanctuary at 11:00. All of the adult Sunday school classes made the decision not to meet on New Year’s day, so there will be no Sunday school. There will be a nursery for the service. You can’t have perfect attendance if you miss the first one, so see you at Vineville on the 1st @11:00!
THANK YOU CHANCEL CHOIR AND MUSICIANS
What a phenomenal day of worship! Sunday was spectacular! A Weary World Rejoices was a treat for all who were present in person and online. The room was full, and I left with a heart full of joy!

It takes a lot of time and commitment to put together a service like we were blessed to experience. We appreciate the choir members for sharing their gifts with us. We are grateful for the leadership of Cannon and Elizabeth. Thanks to all the orchestra members for sharing their gifts and talents as well. Thanks to Teresa for serving as our narrator.
YEAR END GIVING
Santa has made his list and checked it twice. His work for 2022 is almost done. With just a few days left in our fiscal year, it is a good time for all of us to take a look at our giving. Have you given what you intended this year? Is it possible for you to make an extra gift to support the ministry of the church in this season?

This year we are preparing to make a change in financial software. We will close the books on 2022 on January 9th. Please get your 2022 gifts to the church before then. Thank you for your continued support. Your faithfulness makes the life-changing ministry of the church possible. Thank you!

Peace,
