This year our Christmas Eve services will be at 12:00, 4:00, and 6:00. All of our services will be in the sanctuary and include communion. Elizabeth will accompany the services at 12:00 and 6:00 with the organ. We will have soloists at both of these services. The music for the 4:00 will be led by Mike and Lindsay. Both the 4:00 and 6:00 services will end with the singing of "Silent Night" by candlelight. I hope that you will be here. Even more, I hope that you will bring somebody with you.
Christmas Eve is one of those times when people are drawn to God and to church. Some who never go the rest of the year will be looking for a place to worship. This makes it one of the best times to invite a friend, co-worker, or family member to join you for worship. Invite somebody to worship at Vineville on Saturday. Come right out and say, “There will be lots of new people so you will not stand out.” Let them know they will not be singled out, and be sure that they know we don’t care what they wear. We just want them to come! If you dress up great. If Christmas Eve finds you in casual clothes, then that is fine, too. Most important is the opportunity to share this time of worship together. A no-strings-attached invitation! Let’s share the greatest gift ever given!
Christmas Eve always has an excitement and
energy about it. I look forward to worshipping
with you and those you invite.
One Service on Christmas Day
Christmas falls on Sunday this year. We know that Christmas is busy with presents to unwrap, company, maybe some travel, and lots of feasting. We will have one combined service at 10:30 A.M. The service will be less than an hour. We hope that it will fit into your morning between gift-giving and final lunch preparations. Let’s pause to celebrate the reason for the season.
Come as casual or as dressy as you like. If you are a matching pajama family, bring it on! Our service will feature extra music so that we can sing the joy that is Christmas. Both Elizabeth and Mike will lead us with the guitar and organ. It will be a day of joy and celebration. I hope you will be in your place as the celebration will be diminished by your absence. For those on the road, we will stream the service at 10:30 as well. There will be no Sunday School and no nursery this week.
