Exodus Rehearsals Begin February 26!
If you’ve been around Vineville very long, you know that Exodus, our Youth choir and band, is a BIG deal around here! Well, even though it seems like we were just singing "Joy to the World" yesterday, we will begin Exodus rehearsals for our Summer Tour on Sunday, February 26th at 4:30. I say this every year, and it bears repeating: You don’t have to be musically gifted to join Exodus, but you do have to be willing to sing. If your child is interested, just have them join us on the 26th for our first meeting to get on the same page about Exodus 2023. This won’t be an official rehearsal, but just an informational meeting so your child can kick the tires and gauge their own interest.

The tour will be June 4-10. We will stop on our way in Valdosta to play for Park Avenue Church, then head to Naples for the duration of our trip. Once again, we have been invited to sing at Covenant Methodist Church, and (our favorite) St. Matthew’s House - a recovery facility that we have formed a beautiful relationship with over the years.
Countless 3C alums would point to Exodus as the best experience they had in their time with us. Better still, many would say they began a real relationship with Jesus while on an Exodus tour. This is certainly my favorite trip and I’m already looking forward to bonding with our kids over songs that lift up the name of Jesus and offer hope and truth to the world that He so loves!
Getting excited over here,
Mike

Today is Ash Wednesday. Around the world, Christians gather to be marked with ashes as a sign of their intention to enter into a special season. Lent is the season of 40 days not counting Sundays where we are invited into a more intentional and focused time of discipline and study. The popular practice of giving up something for Lent has its roots in this intention. For centuries the followers of Jesus have stepped away from activities, and given up favorite foods or favorite TV shows to use that time and money for Bible study, worship, and service. Even if you are not able to gather at 6:00 for worship, give some thought to how you will observe a holy Lent.
We begin a new sermon series this Sunday, Learning to Live Inside Out. We want to be asking two questions this season. How is it with your soul? This is a question we Methodists have been asking since the days of John Wesley. The second question is how do you live in the world around you? This question invites us to consider how our faith impacts our community, our church, and our family.
There are some great offerings for study and service. Check out the Vine to see the classes and studies being offered during this season. There will also be several service opportunities. Stay tuned for more details.
Peace,

Vineville is excited to announce that a mission team of 20 people will be traveling to Costa Rica. This is an incredible opportunity to serve others and make a difference in the world while growing in faith and friendship.
On March 12th we will have an opportunity for everyone at Vineville to engage in mission with Costa Rica by holding a fundraiser luncheon where we will introduce our team members and share about the Costa Rican culture and our mission partner Wil Bailey. Join us for an informative and fun-filled day of learning, supporting our mission team while enjoying a Latin-inspired meal after church.

Forgiveness Through the Frame of the Cross
Wednesdays in March at 10:30 am in the library
Teacher: Teresa Edwards
If there’s any season that invites us to contemplate what forgiveness really means, it’s Lent. Throughout these 5 weeks, we will explore how Jesus defines forgiveness and how those around him experience forgiveness. Judas, Peter, the Crowd and Jesus himself will be our guides. Bring your Bible and an open heart as we consider what forgiveness might mean for us these Forty days together.
