November 30, 2022
This Christmas season we wanted to highlight the areas of food, shelter, clothing, education, and spiritual formation. Much like Jesus’ ministry on earth nearly 2000 years ago, we want to have a holistic approach to partnering and supporting our neighbors.

Backpack Buddies:
Each week, different groups from Vineville pack 175 bags of balanced and nutritious foods for children who attend L.H. Williams Elementary School.
Adequate nutrition is so important to overall well-being and influences educational success.

Pleasant Hill Housing and Development: Through trusted community partners Vineville continues to work to make affordable and safe housing possible in the neighborhood. Field of Hope, a development project has also returned with a fresh vision, and action is underway to provide an open space for safe play and travel.
Living Sacrifice Fellowship Ministries: This local church in the Pleasant Hill neighborhood has a thriving clothing closet that supplies those within the neighborhood with new and gently used items for the current season.

L.H. Williams Elementary School: Since the early 1980s, Vineville has been actively involved at L.H. Williams through tutoring, reading programs, school supply and uniform donations as well as hosting the annual award ceremony and luncheon.

Campus Club Scholarships for Camp Grace: Campus Club of Macon is a Christian-based, after-school program serving students who primarily live or go to school in the Pleasant Hill community located just blocks away from Vineville. This year we are helping offset scholarships for students to have a Christian camp experience at Camp Grace.

We have the opportunity to touch the lives of the Pleasant Hill community in significant ways while also showing our love and appreciation to others this Christmas. When you give a gift for Christmas in Pleasant-Ville you will get cards to send to friends and loved ones stating you made a gift in their honor. They will see wonderful ways of how this gift keeps on giving. What a great way to let people know you thought of them during this season without having to figure out what the person who has everything needs. Even better you won’t have to struggle to wrap it.

We will have a table set up in the CLC Lobby and outside of the Sanctuary on 2W on December 4th and 11th. You can also purchase those cards online here, or come by the office Monday - Friday, 9 am - 4 pm.
Grace and Peace,
JOURNEY TO BETHLEHEM
What a wonderful time we have had in children’s choir this fall! Each Wednesday, close to 60 children gather here for dinner, playing, and singing. You should see the energy with which they run into the dining room, excited to see their friends, followed by the enthusiasm in their singing! It is truly a joy to sing and learn with them each week, and I am so thankful to our nursery staff, volunteers, and parents who are faithfully here to nurture these children.

You have heard the choirs sing a few times in worship this fall, and this Sunday, you will have the chance to hear them share the story of Christ’s birth. Our Hosanna preschool choir and Oasis elementary choir will present Journey to Bethlehem at the 11:00 service in the Sanctuary.

I promise that it will be lively and cute; there may be some of those unplanned, comical moments that you won’t want to miss. I also promise you, though, that it will be tender and special to hear the Good News from our children’s voices. I hope that you will be here to be blessed by them and to show them how much they are loved by this church. It will be a wonderful Sunday at Vineville!

Merry Christmas,
SEARCHING FOR A CHURCH PUBLICIST
Although Jenna Claire Gilmer has only been here a few months, she has become a beloved member of our support staff as Church Publicist. She will be getting married in January and will be moving to Tennessee where her fiancé has accepted a job with the Tennessee Titans. Jenna Claire leaves big shoes to fill and will be greatly missed.

Since Jenna Claire is leaving, the church is now searching for a new Church Publicist. This full-time position, with benefits, would include but is not limited to; preparing, formatting, and printing weekly Sunday bulletins; creating, formatting, and sending the weekly online and printed church newsletter; preparing and printing regular and bulk mailings. This person would also create church posters, banners, and online publications. He/she would also assist the pastor and other staff members with correspondence and other church-related needs. Computer software skills with programs like Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Publisher, and Canva are required. This person would also need to have an understanding of printers and copiers. People skills and being a team player are also a must.

WESLEY AUCTION
This online auction is a great way to shop local and support the ministry of Wesley along the way! Wesley of Macon is a college campus ministry of the United Methodist Church serving at Mercer University, Middle Georgia State University, and Wesleyan College that helps students grow spiritually by worshiping freely, following Christ, and serving with impact. Students on all three campuses and from the greater Macon area participate in worship, discipleship, fun, contemplation, prayer, retreats, mission trips, community service and engagement, and leadership opportunities.
We are so happy to be a part of this community and would not be here without you and your support. Mark your calendars, look around, and bid on something for yourself or for that last-minute gift on your list! Thank you for your prayers, your presence, and your support through the years.
