VUSD is guided by a 7-member Board of Trustees. Each was elected by the voters who reside in their particular trustee area and are up for re-election every four years. After the November 2018 election, we welcomed three new members to the Board, Walta S. Gamoian (Trustee Area 1), Joy M. Naylor (Trustee Area 3) and Niessen E. Foster (Trustee Area 5).

A new campus for Sequoia High School
Please join us for the ceremonial groundbreaking for Sequoia High School's new campus at 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 14.
The new campus is located on Woodland, south of Houston Avenue and directly west of the current campus.
Members of the VUSD Board of Trustees, Superintendent Todd Oto, School Principal Adolfo Reyes and school staff members are expected to participate, and members of the public are welcome.
“Sequoia High School is our longest-serving alternative school in Visalia Unified, and it has helped students learn, achieve and earn a high school diploma since 1966,” noted VUSD Superintendent Todd Oto, Ed.D., “We are excited to be able to bring a new campus to this important school.”
The project is funded through facility funds and matching funds are expected from the State of California. No bond measure funds were used.
Kids to College Project kicks off
Momentum Broadcasting, G for Kids Foundation and VUSD have kicked off the Kids to College Project, which is working to raise funds to send 1,000 kids to tour a university.
Click here for more information and to check out the auction items now available. The funds raised through the auction will help show students and their parents the opportunities that a college education can provide.
Thank you, Momentum and G for Kids, for supporting our students!
