Alumni Council Members Move to President's Council

Thomas Taylor, Ed.D. '00, and William Gobble '03 were both recently appointed to serve on the President's Council starting July 1. The Virginia Wesleyan University President's Council comprises business leaders who embrace, embody, and align with the University's vision and values in their management practices. Congratulations!

Connor Merk '23 and Lindsay White '22 will soon be featured in the "I am Virginia Wesleyan" hallway in Godwin Hall alongside other outstanding alumni. Merk '23 and White '22 were both Batten Honors College graduates and showed extraordinary dedication to their academics and extracurricular activities while being students at Virginia Wesleyan.

Wesleyan Engaged Issues Newsletter Focusing on Student Engagement
Wesleyan Engaged has issued their first-ever newsletter, which highlights students' involvement with the community and here on campus. The Wesleyan Engaged mission is to nurture partnerships with civic organizations in order to facilitate meaningful student engagement activities, promote the growth of faculty-led service learning courses, and improve the Hampton Roads community and beyond.

VWU Offers No-Cost Professional Development Opportunities—Online and In Person
Registration is open for the spring session of no-cost online courses. These self-paced training courses can help improve your professional skill set—perfect for job seekers, business owners, students, recent graduates and volunteers. Courses include: Supervision and Management, Project Management, Personal Finance, Human Resources, Medical Assistant training and more.
 
In-person workshops are also available on VWU's campus or at The Hive in Virginia Beach Town Center. New courses begin on July 17 and include CompTIA Certifications, Personal Trainer Certification, Supply Chain Management, Web Design, and Diversity in the Workplace Certification.
