Paying it Forward: CPS Food Cards
Because so many in our city suffer from food insecurity, every CPS family is receiving $450 on a debit-type card for the pandemic . If you are one of the families who does not need this extra assistance, here are several things you can do: buy groceries and other items, like diapers and formula, and donate them to one of our local food pantries, or donate an equivalent amount to the Greater Chicago Food Depository.
The funds are designed to help families in need, and unused funds will go back to the government. So pay it forward - and help others. The Chicago Tribune reported about it here.

Kennedy Construction Update
Going to the airport?
The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) is implementing the next phase of its I-90/Kennedy Expressway construction improvements affecting westbound traffic on I-90.
IDOT will relocate the current westbound exit to I-190 by approximately one mile to the east, using a new dedicated collector-distributor roadway and exit just west of Canfield Road instead of the current I-190 merge west of East River Road. IDOT anticipates making this traffic pattern adjustment as early as this week but this is subject to change based on construction progress and weather.
For additional information, click here for the IDOT press release.
