VAIL GOLF CLUB DRIVING RANGE OPENS & PASS SALES START FRIDAY, APRIL 17

Full operations begin Friday, May 8, weather depending

(Vail, Colo.) - Get ready for golf! Due to the low snow year and early spring, the Vail Golf Club is opening ahead of schedule for the 2026 season. Golfers can look forward to getting back out on the course sooner than usual, with a phased opening designed to maximize play while protecting course conditions. Operations are planned to expand gradually from practice facilities in mid-April to full golf operations by mid-May, weather depending.

“We’re excited to get things underway,” says Director of Golf Trey Johnson. “With the light snow year allowing for earlier course clearing, we can’t wait to welcome our staff and guests back for another great season on the greens.”

Practice Facilities Open & Season Pass Sales Begin April 17

Golf season begins Friday, April 17, with the opening of the driving range and practice facilities. The Pro Shop will operate daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with hours expanding as the season progresses.

Range balls will also be accessible via the range machine after hours until dusk. Limited food and beverage items will be available through the Pro Shop.

Walking-Only Play Begins April 24

On Friday, April 24, the course opens for walking-only play on a limited loop. Golfers can expect a streamlined operation during this period, with limited staffing and early-season pricing.

To protect early-season turf conditions, carts will not be available until May 1. Walking play allows the turf to recover from winter conditions and ensures optimal playing surfaces for the full season.

Early season Starter Haus offerings will include a limited menu of grab-and-go items such as hot dogs, brats, snacks and beverages. Starter Haus hours will expand as the season progresses.

Golf Cart Access Begins May 1 (Cart Path Only)

Beginning Friday, May 1, all 18 holes will open with modified play on select holes due to ongoing course improvements (see more info below). Golf carts will be permitted on cart paths only, with limited exceptions for ADA accommodations.

Full Operations Launch May 8

Full golf operations are slated to officially begin Friday, May 8, weather depending. Golf carts will be available without restrictions (except on holes #2 and #8 due to high water table conditions). All 18 holes will remain open with minor adjustments on select holes.

Grill on the Gore Restaurant Opens May 15

The Grill on the Gore is slated to open for the season on May 15, with daily hours from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Serving creative twists on classic American comfort fare, the restaurant features a diverse craft beer selection and signature cocktails. It’s the perfect spot to gather with friends and family and take in sweeping views of the Gore Range from the outdoor patio!
