Hospital Wastes A Third Less Food After This One Change Forbes | UCSF Medical Center has cut the amount of food wasted by 30 percent simply by serving food to patients on-demand. The new system also improves customer satisfaction by giving patients more control over their meals, according to Dan Henroid .  For Women Living With HIV, A Trauma-Informed Approach to Care Health Affairs | The Women’s HIV Program, led by Edward Machtinger , MD, believes that biomedical factors are not the be-all and end-all of HIV care. Even when a patient achieves viral suppression, Machtinger explained, “We don’t think our job is done here.” Why Do South Asians Have Such High Rates of Heart Disease? The New York Times | Alka Kanaya , MD, was inspired to launch the Masala project after seeing many of her friends and family members die from heart disease at relatively young ages. The ongoing study has found that South Asians tend to develop high blood pressure, high triglycerides, abnormal cholesterol and Type 2 diabetes at lower body weights than other groups.
