Blizzard of February 1938
Let's hope our February is NOT like this. The 1st photo was taken at the corner of South Street and Plymouth Street, the Town Hall is in the background.
The 2nd photo was taken at the corner of Thompson Street and Plymouth Street. Clyde O. Bosworth's farm can be seen in the background. There is NO Stoney Weir Road or Clyde O. Bosworth Road, yet.

MBTA - Forging Ahead Initiative
The MBTA Community Engagement team is reaching out to provide an update on the Forging Ahead initiative.
The MBTA is implementing service changes in response to the low ridership caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Changes on the bus network and subway system will take place on March 14th, and will include reducing frequency on some bus and subway lines, as well as eliminating, shortening, or combining various bus routes. The Commuter Rail will also undergo additional scheduling changes, starting April 5th.
Ahead of these changes, the MBTA will host two virtual public meetings on February 17th and February 24th, from 6pm to 8pm. These meetings will provide an opportunity for riders to learn more about the changes and ask questions. For more information about the Spring Service Changes and to register for the public meetings, please visit www.mbta.com/servicechanges

The Town of Halifax is Participating in the MassDOT Complete Streets Funding Program. Here's What it is and How you can get Involved.
Complete streets is a program aimed at improving the roadways for motorists, pedestrians, cyclists, emergency responders, public transportation and more. MassDOT is providing funding and technical assistance to turn roads in Halifax into complete streets.
A complete street has six important qualities: Active sidewalks, dedicated bike lanes, active roadway, safe crosswalks, planting strip, and green spaces. To make the most of this program, Halifax needs its resident's input on what areas would benefit the most from these infrastructure projects.
In the meeting, the Board of Selectmen will cover how to utilize the public input map to make your suggestions heard by the community.

What A Relief!
By Ridge Kelly
For senior citizens, the most vulnerable population when it comes to COVID-19, getting a vaccine appointment can be a stressful and difficult task. Our town has stepped up to make this process simpler on them.
On February 5th, seventy-eight seniors from the seventy-five and older group were vaccinated at the Halifax Fire Station in a safe and quick manner. The Halifax Fire Department reports that they will continue to vaccinate at this location when people qualify:
"Our next phase 2 step, 1 clinic will be held on Wednesday (February 10th) of next week. Halifax seniors 75 and over that are interested in being vaccinated at one of our clinics should contact the Halifax Council on Aging at 781-293-7313 to be placed on the list.
Stay tuned for more updates!"
Call in to reserve your spot on Wednesday, and check the Halifax Fire Department's Facebook page here for when appointments become available in the future.
A big thanks to all the wonderful work that the Halifax Fire Department Does for Their Community!

Valentine's Day Wisdom
“To love someone fiercely, to believe in something with your whole heart, to celebrate a fleeting moment in time, to fully engage in a life that doesn’t come with guarantees – these are risks that involve vulnerability and often pain. But, I’m learning that recognizing and leaning into the discomfort of vulnerability teaches us how to live with joy, gratitude and grace.”
~ Brené Brown
"Intimacy, by its very nature, requires us to be vulnerable. Our partner, lover, or mate can know us to our very core, sometimes better than we know ourselves, and that can make any of us feel totally exposed. Intimacy can be intimidating. However, it is an amazingly freeing experience when you can be completely who you are with someone you totally trust."
~ Barton Goldsmith Ph.D.
“I define connection as the energy that exists between people when they feel seen, heard, and valued; when they can give and receive without judgment; and when they derive sustenance and strength from the relationship.” ~Brené Brown
"To share your weakness is to make yourself vulnerable; to make yourself vulnerable is to show your strength.”
~ Criss Jami
Love will never be certain, but after collecting thousands of stories, I’m willing to call this a fact: A deep sense of love and belonging is an irreducible need of all men, women, and children. We are biologically, cognitively, physically, and spiritually wired to love, to be loved, and to belong.”
~ Brené Brown
|
I hope you spend this day, and every day loving yourself. No shame, be vulnerable.
You are worth it!
~ Jacquie
