Rise Inspire Academy - Financial Literacy Series

During the month of March, Rise Inspire Academy students participated in a Financial Literacy series which included a trip to Junior Achievement Finance Park in San Antonio. During the month-long series, students also learned about the advantages and drawbacks of using credit. Our students learned balancing your budget is an important part of balancing your life. Did you know the strongest risk factor of addiction is age? Did you also know the average age of first use in San Antonio is thirteen? April is Alcohol Awareness Month, but the statistics show youth substance use deserves and requires an ongoing conversation to educate the community on its long-term effects. Experimenting can start out so innocently then head down a path neither chosen, nor understand. Thankfully, this real-life testimony we are sharing with you ends happily. If you or a loved one are struggling, we're here for you, too.

Last week exterior signage for the Mays Family Center was delivered! The interior is also starting to take shape and we cannot wait to move in and welcome our community! Stay tuned for our grand opening to be announced in May!

Fiesta has NIOSA but they do not have RIOSA (Recovery In Ol' San Antone) and supporters like Nigel Williams, aka Heartless The Monster, local rap superstar! This year's event included delicious barbecue with a generous side of fellowship topped off with celebrating recovery!
We are thankful to community supporters like Nigel. He's not only a talent to behold behind the mic, he's also a recovery advocate, Rise Recovery board member and long-time supporter of our mission.
