Valero Raises $135,000 for Benicia Community Action Council in 2021 Clay Shoot

Valero Benicia Refinery presented the Benicia Community Action Council a check in the amount of $135,000 representing the proceeds from their annual ‘Sporting Clays’ fundraiser held in September.

The funds generated by the event have been earmarked for specific capital improvements at the agency’s office in Benicia, many of which have been delayed during the COVID-19 pandemic. The proceeds will also be used to support the BCAC’s ‘Transition to Independence’ Program (TIP) which has a home in nearby Vallejo.

Benicia Community Action Council is an "umbrella" agency providing vital assistance and relief to the community. It offers guidance, resources, and referrals to Benicians striving for self-sufficiency and has been doing so since 1967.

Valero Co-Sponsors 9/11 Rebuilding Together Charity Event

"Rebuilding Together" has been working with the community for over ten years to give back to veterans and do something positive to mark the anniversary of 9/11.

Valero is proud to continue its support for "Rebuilding Together" and help provide veterans with emergency essentials like smoke alarms, CO alarms, fire extinguishers, flashlights, and food items, along with a card from Cal Maritime students.

Rebuilding Together was able to distribute 150 safe at-home kits for veterans, 4,000 pounds of food, 6 garden boxes. These efforts were recognized on the front page of the Vallejo Times Herald.

First Annual Benicia Dog Festival Sponsored by Valero

Valero was one of the main sponsors of the first annual Benicia Dog Festival on Sunday, October 17th. This festival was a fundraiser for the rescue and care of animals affected by natural disasters in our region.
