Valero Refinery Tour for Benicia High School Students

Benicia High School students visited the refinery on March 29th for a tour and job shadow. This included a hands-on workshop with a weld shop demo and acrylic pump display. The students then had lunch with refinery personnel. Valero Benicia is proud to support education for our local students that helps them find careers they are passionate about.

Valero Benicia Supports Annual STEAM Festival

Valero Benicia is proud to have supported Solano College's annual Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math Discovery Festival (STEAM) in partnership with Benicia Makerspace and the Solano County Office of Education.


Valero had a 'How a Refinery Works' exhibit featured at the event. We were proud to encourage all the young attendees to grow up to be the future engineers, scientists, educators, makers, and leaders in our community.

Valero Benicia Refinery wins AFPM's Innovation Awards

The Valero Benicia Refinery was recognized by the American Fuel and Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM) for our "innovative work benefitting occupational safety."


Advancing the future of energy requires innovation in many forms. AFPM’s Innovation Award recognizes refineries, petrochemical facilities, and their contractors who have implemented unique and innovative programs or practices to effectively improve their site’s performance for either occupational or process safety.

Valero Benicia Collaborates with City on Water Pipeline Solutions

Following the March 29th damage to Benicia's main water line, Valero has coordinated with the city to drastically reduce refinery water consumption and pursue temporary solutions to the water pipeline breach to reduce the burden on Lake Herman. We continue to work with the city as long-term fixes are identified.
