VALLEJO, CA — On March 18, 2022 at approximately 7:00 p.m., Vallejo Police Officers responded to the report of a shooting that occurred in the 300 block of Pepper Drive.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased by medical personnel. The victim has been identified as 49-year-old La Prell Briggs of Vallejo.

The Vallejo Police Department (VPD) Detective Division responded to take over the investigation. The motive and circumstances involving this shooting are under investigation at this time.

This means investing into creative solutions like auditory gunshot detection systems and centering our focus on prevention, intervention and enforcement," Chief Williams continued.
