VALLEJO POLICE DEPARTMENT ARRESTS SUSPECT IN SEPTEMBER 16, 2021 HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION, SEEKS PUBLIC'S HELP LOCATING SUSPECTED DRIVER

VALLEJO - The Vallejo Police Department (VPD) has made one arrest in connection to the September 16, 2021 murder of 38-year-old Edward Anderson, who was gunned down in the parking lot of a Vallejo restaurant.


During the course of the investigation, members of the VPD Detective Division learned that Mr. Anderson was shot and killed by 28-year-old Dequan Wright of Vacaville, CA. The driver of the vehicle that fled the scene has been identified as 29-year-old Kevonte Ridgle. The motive for this murder appears to be gang related.


The Solano County District Attorney’s Office reviewed the case and filed charges against both Wright and Ridgle, charging each of the suspects with murder.

28-year-old Dequan Wright of Vacaville, CA has been arrested in connection to the 9/16/21 murder of 38-year-old Edward Anderson on 9/16/21.

38-year-old Edward Anderson of Richmond, CA was fatally shot and killed in the parking lot of a restaurant establishment in the City of Vallejo n on 9/16/21.

29-year-old Kevonte Ridgle of Fairfield, CA is wanted in connection to the murder of 38-year-old Edward Anderson on 9/16/21.Ridgle is considered armed and dangerous.

On February 3, 2022, shooting suspect Dequan Wright was contacted at Santa Rita Jail where he was in custody on an unrelated charge. Wright was arrested and will be extradited to the Solano County Jail to face charges.


On February 3, 2022, VPD Detectives, along with the assistance of FBI Safe Streets Task Force and Vallejo SWAT attempted to arrest Ridgle in the 1100 block of Porter St in the City of Vallejo. Ridgle was able to elude capture after a short foot chase and a vehicle pursuit. 


The Vallejo Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in locating Kevonte Ridgle, who should be considered armed and dangerous. Ridgle has contacts throughout the Bay Area.
