Hello Homeowners,

We have made it through most of the summer without having any significant fires close to the San Diego Country Estates. However, fire season is no longer a “season,” it is all year, every month, and every day. So, we are never out of the woods when it comes to being prepared for fire. I mention this as I want to see our community be the shining star of what a community can do to be prepared for the inevitable.

If you believe that we should do all that we can, as individuals, an HOA, governmental agencies, and the greater Ramona community, I am going to make a strong request that you attend an important Firewise Educational Training Workshop on Saturday, Sept. 20, starting at 8 am in the San Vicente Room at the Clubhouse.

  1. Register online for this event at: Events | Ramona West End Fire Safe Council.
  2. Put the event in your calendar.
  3. We will see you in the San Vicente Room on September 20th!
  4. Take what you learn at the event and put it into action at your home.
  5. LOG your hours or your contractor’s hours, as part of certification.

We are very close to obtaining Firewise certification and need your participation, not only for the initial certification, but also for the re-certification next year. Volunteer hours count towards this…your attendance helps us achieve those goals. While certification is an important step, the most important part is that we become more proactive in learning what we can do to minimize loss of life and loss of homes during a wildfire.

TOGETHER, we can protect each other and truly make SDCEA the best that it can be!

Thank you for doing your part in making SDCEA the best it can be.

Thank you, Carl Weise, GM
