Hello Homeowners,
I am sure you’ve all been busy with graduations, the last day of school, and getting ready for Father’s Day. I hope you were able to come out and enjoy our first concert in the park last weekend. The good news is there is a new concert twice each month. It’s a great time of year to get out and enjoy the amenities and events going on all summer.
Happy Dad’s Day!! Fathers have an important and unique role in our families. I hope they all get a moment to sit back for a day and feel the appreciation and love. Thank you for all that you do to support your family and children.
Stop by the clubhouse this Wednesday to get your passport and take a tour of our freshly renovated guest rooms and all that the Estates has to offer you. Our San Vicente Resort Open House is from 4 – 7 pm on Wednesday, June 18. See the blog post below for more details.
Summer break is upon us, which means that our recreation program has 10 weeks of summer camp. Our amazing Amy Holsapple-Lueck gets the kids out swimming, doing crafts, field trips, science experiments, skits, learning about nature, and much more. There are some spots open for “ImagiCamp.” Please call 760-789-4146 to get your kids signed up.
During summer break, our kids get some time to relax, recharge, and have more time with friends and family. It can also be a time for them to find some minor trouble. Over the years, and again this spring, we have seen our young residents out on the golf course either fishing or riding bikes/e-bikes or golf carts on the greens and fairways.
Here’s the issue and concern:
- There is No Fishing at any time in our reclaimed water/irrigation ponds.
-
People are not allowed to be on the golf course while there are players on the course. This means from sunup to sundown.
- Being on the golf course during play creates a dangerous situation. An amateur golfer's ball velocity is in the range of 120mph to 140mph. You can understand why we cannot have non-players on the course.
- Resident kids have done damage to the greens. This is not acceptable. It creates extra time, effort, and dollars to repair the damage and is an interruption to homeowner enjoyment of our grounds and facilities. Kids have also been seen doing wheelies and other stunts on the hills by Ramona Oaks Park.
I understand that kids need to have fun. We just cannot have them doing things that put themselves, others, or the association at risk. Parents, we need your help. When kids are caught in violation of HOA rules, you will be held responsible for their actions and the fines. At times, we have had to involve local sheriffs to respond when they do not comply with requests to leave. I DO NOT WANT to involve the sheriffs; it is a terrible waste of their time, but they leave us no options. Again, I do not want to escalate any of these situations. That is why I ask you to remind your kids about the rules and why these rules are in place.
I believe in being fair to all of our residents and providing appropriate enforcement of our rules “handbook” for the safety and benefit of our entire community. Thank you in advance for your understanding and assistance.
Thank you for doing your part in making SDCEA the best it can be.
Thank you, Carl Weise, GM
