Hello Homeowners,

Unlike many of my large-scale HOA General Manager colleagues, I do not write articles with any AI assistance. Even though AI can make quick work of an article, I prefer to write these myself. While I definitely have my own perspective on the best ways to run and lead an organization, my voice is certainly not the only one. Beginning next week, I will enlist others to contribute to the weekly articles. Additional points of view are beneficial to “tell the SDCEA story.”

I have invited our Board President, Jeff Wells, and our Treasurer, John Massery, to provide content that I will include from time to time. In addition, I will have some of my leadership team do the same. This is part of team development, and it will provide you with an opportunity to get to know them and their departments as well.

The October Board Meeting was originally posted for October 21. The Board has moved the meeting to its usual date, the fourth Tuesday of the month, October 28. This meeting will be held in the Rotunda.

I look forward to October weather, less air conditioning, and our Fall Festival, which is set for Saturday, Oct. 18. More information can be found in this edition of the Valley News. We hope to see you there.

BEER! At our last Board Meeting, our Front of House Manager, Chuck Kast, presented bids to replace our old and broken tap beer system. The Board voted unanimously to approve the quote from a good vendor whose business began in Ramona. We look forward to getting this system up and running. In case you didn’t know, Chuck is a wealth of beer and cocktail knowledge; I can’t wait to see what selections we will see on our new taps.

Looking to volunteer? We are looking to fill one remaining position on our Environmental Control Committee, and to begin the search for Nominating Committee members. Please use the link below. Scroll down to the bottom of the page, “Volunteer to Serve,” to fill out the application for either committee. In addition, please view the Equestrian Committee volunteer opportunity details below.

Thanks again for helping us make San Diego Country Estates the best it can be!

Thank you, Carl Weise, GM

Meet the Winemaker. Meet the Guitar Maker. Drink. Dine. Dance.

Guests enjoyed an unforgettable evening as Laurie Wagner and Ian Vaux shared a selection of Turtle Rock Ridge wines, perfectly paired with pasta creations by Sous Chef Jessica Nelson, including Zucchini Bucatini and Calabrian Pomodoro. The night was elevated by the music of Ashley E Norton and Travis Ross, who performed on two special instruments — the very first guitar and the most recent guitar crafted by legendary Taylor Guitars expert and 25-year veteran, Mike Mosley.
